Foo dogs originated in China, shi (meaning lion) or shishi (meaning stone lion). Yet, they resemble the Chow Chow and Shih Tzu, which led them to be called "foo dogs". Originally displayed outdoors, the motif is symbolic and holds a protective status. This beautiful vase is decorated in burnt orange ink and would look incredible with any colourful bouquet or dried flowers.
