2021 Design Trends
One of the most exciting things about a new year is all the trends and inspiration that come with it. Even though we don't believe you necessarily should follow trends, there is no harm in gaining inspiration from what is gaining popularity. From incorporating natural materials to cheerful, mood-enhancing yellows, these are a few of the trends that we believe will be stealing the spotlight in 2021.
textured furniture
Cabinets, sideboards and chest of drawers are gaining popularity, except flat fronts are no longer desired. We're seeing an increase in furniture that is a little more decorative; carved, slat-like grooves and textured surfaces take over storage in every room of the house! From carved wood to shagreen and leather finishes, furniture is quickly becoming more decorative rather than just purely functional.
living in warm yellows
Following Pantone's 2021 Colour of the Year, warm cheerful and rich tones of yellow will be seen more frequently as an accent colour in homes. A new cushion, throw, vase or small ottoman can easily brighten up a space, especially as we approach warmer months.
home offices
Working from home has already had a major impact on our decor and design schemes. Creating a private, formal workspace is more important than ever before. Whether you have an entire room to design a home office, or a small corner, ensuring you're both productive and inspired each day is crucial.
rattan & wicker
There is nothing more grounding than using natural materials in your home. They bring a sense of honesty and warmth to a space. Rattan furniture has increased in popularity over the part year; likely a combination of people who are looking to enjoy their gardens during lockdown alongside those investing in the trend of rattan furniture indoors.
